A few days ago I started talking to you about navigating through your website’s Dashboard. One of the most powerful features found on all WP dashboards is the “Plugins” button.

So what is a plugin anyway?

Plugins are ways to extend and add to the functionality that already exists in WordPress.

“The core of WordPress is designed to be lean and lightweight, to maximize flexibility and minimize code bloat. Plugins then offer custom functions and features so that each user can tailor their site to their specific needs.”

Ok, so what does that mean??

Plugins are “pre-coded” tools that you can add to your website.

For example, one of the most useful plugins that I use on all of my websites is the image widget. This plugin gives me the ability to display images of products that I want to sell on the sidebar of my website. This is great for TpT products:)

In fact, it’s great for all products!

Look on the homepage of my website… wondering how I added the image of my e-book??? I used the image widget:)

I also use another plugin called paid downloads to handle the e-commerce for my e-book. Although this plugin is a little out dated, it’s super easy to use and works fine for me. As long as money ends up in PayPal account, I’m good:) You simply install this plugin, add the files that you want to sell, hook it up to PayPal account and you are all set! Once you set this plugin up, you can add as many files as you want. So you can really add your entire TpT store to your website by simply clicking a button:)

And remember, when ever you sell something on  your website… all of the profits go directly into your PayPal account!!

You are not splitting this with anyone!!

That’s why everyone that has a TpT store should have their OWN website too. Not that you should get rid of your TpT store, absolutely not… you’ll be getting traffic from them… but when someone buys form your personal website… you keep all the money!

You can actually create your own store easily by using a really cool plugin called EZ PayPal. I created my store on this website using this tool. Check it out…

Although this Plugin is pretty easy to use, I am going to show you how to create your own store in another post. I’m thinking about adding some videos when teaching this too. Because most people are visual learners, I’m sure most of you would benefit from something like this:)
